Hi all,
has anyone heard of this site, and are you on it? I just found this site this site in James patrick kellys' column in asimovs's science fiction magazine. You can download ebooks, some of them are free, most not, but they are cheap, the novels ranging from $4.99 and up. The most expensive book I've seen on there is 17 dollars, and even they have a rebate on them, and they're 14 dollars after rebate. They have books in all genres, mystery/crime, suspense/thrillers, fantasy, dark fantasy, fantasy, historical fiction, bestsellers, mainstream, and short stories. Most of their novels are around 5 6, and 7 dollars, and you can download a short story for 50 cents. There were 500 titles just under horror, I couldn't believe it. A lot of them I couldn't even remember seeing in the nls catalogs. You can register for free, and that makes you elligible to download free ebooks and get discounts, and you'll be automatically entered in a monthly drawing, and if you are a winner, you can get up to 100 dollars in ebooks. You can pay by micropay, and use checks, but I'm not 100 percent sure how it works. From the way it sounds, you can put money in your micropay account, after you've created one, then you can download, just as long as there's enough in the account to cover the cost. If anyone uses this site and has a micropay account, I'd appreciate hearing from you, and if you could tell me how it works. I think I'm going to enter my email address on the site, since registration is free, and see what happens. They have different file types, I wish all the books were in mp3 format, so I could listen with winamp. In case anyone wants it, the url is:

Sounds cool, but well... not so much.

Well, it looks pretty good, but i d rather go on bookshare.org because its free membership and there's more books in there to download in any format you want.

Thanks, I'll definitely check this out!

I don't know what formats they have, but you can sometimes convert pdf's to text.

Bookshare is great, but there are always books you may want to read which no one has submitted yet. I'm not opposed to acquiring print books and scanning them, I've gotten to the point where I'm so used to doing that, that I rarely order anything from NLS anymore. If buying a book from a site like this will give me instant access, I'd pay for that, and I'm all for it.

Thank you for the recommendation.
